New lead queue algorithm

Our unique workflow was dramatically improved this month: The Next-best-lead algorithm optimizes the relevancy of the leads in your queue.

At the core of Myphoner sits the queue. The queue is the priority and order of leads you are going to call. It updates dynamically, based on criteria such as time of follow-up, locks and claims by you and your team and filters you apply.

The queue is what helps you keep focus when calling. It is your confidence in the queue algorithm that let you worry about the conversation at hand, and not about who is better to call next.

Not to forget, the queue is one of three core elements making up our Power Dialer.

Up until now, the queue algorithm was based on a most-due-first principle, where the most overdue leads, would be prioritized first.

This works well for many, but for some, it was not optimal, so in December, we set out to provide an alternative.

And the result turned out to be much better than we had imagined. The next-best-lead algorithm is technically more complex but feels much more intuitive. Many users have already tried it, and their feedback is fantastic.

So what changed? For starters, the overdue leads get prioritized in reverse order: least due first. This means that the lead you had scheduled 5 minutes ago will come before the ones scheduled 10 minutes and three months ago. The idea is that the ones that are already waiting can wait a bit more, while the ones that are most likely to have you in recent memory will get your call.

Second, the same principle applies to postponed leads.

Third, claimed, scheduled leads are prioritized over unclaimed, scheduled leads, no matter how overdue. This means that leads you claimed as an agent are considered more relevant to you than ones that may have been claimed by someone, but was since unclaimed.

Last, we added the ability to sort unscheduled leads (new leads and leads not set for any follow-up time) by any data-point you may have on them. This will let you fill your pipeline with fresh leads coming in in the priority you think is more relevant when you have gone through the scheduled follow-ups for the day.

We are so pleased about these improvements that we already made the next-best-lead algorithm the default for new accounts. Existing customers can switch to the new algorithm from their account workflow settings.

I'm an entrepreneur and web developer. I've built or helped build a handful of startups.

I strongly believe in dedicated software that solves one task, but solves it really well. During my experience as an internet entrepreneur, I never found that software for cold calling, so that's why I decided to build Myphoner.

I'm very proud of what Myphoner has become, and I'm dedicated to doing everything I can to make it stay a success. That's why I greet all new customers personally and always read and reply to the feedback I get.
